Component Care

Clean

Ultrasonically clean in de-ionized (DI) water for 15 minutes per treatment. Prolonged exposure to ultrasonic energy may produce “pitting” in graphite materials. If water volume is small, use three 5-minute cleaning steps with fresh DI water each time.

Surface Oil Removal

If oil/grease/fingerprints are a concern, ultrasonically clean parts in methanol for 15 minutes. Do not dry parts. Immediately immerse parts in DI water and ultrasonically clean for a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 15 minutes.

Dry/Bake

Dry thoroughly - bake in vacuum (preferred) or inert atmosphere furnace for 1 to 2 hours at a minimum of 120°C, preferably at 260°C. Avoid exposure to air, oxygen, or moisture at temperatures above 350°C (oxidation may occur).

CAUTION: Use of chlorinated solvents (example: TCE) may result in contamination of your system, since these solvents are difficult to remove.
